Bright Star is a nostalgic, bluegrass musical that spans the past and present of Alice Murphy, a successful magazine editor, exploring themes of heartbreak, resilience, and hope. In my role of A1, I line-by-line mixed a cast of 26 and a 10-piece band on a Yamaha CL5 console. Developing a strong relationship with my sound designer was important to me in order to maintain the integrity of his design throughout the run of the show. I used TheatreMix to program 4 different versions of the show to accommodate unique understudy arrangements and support all contingencies. During moments of live troubleshooting, I leaned on the support of my A2 team and communicated efficiently with my stage manager.
