Shrek the Musical is a vibrant, hysterical movie-turned-musical that follows an ogre on a wild adventure to defend his home as he navigates themes of friendship, diversity, and acceptance. In my role as an A2, I worked on a team that oversaw microphones for 37 actors and a 16-piece band, including handling, placement, troubleshooting, and wireless connections. Unique costumes and headwear called for special care and attention to deployment. Cable management for the orchestra pit install along with comm systems fell under our authority as well. Operating in the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center gave me experience in a large-scale environment for an audience of over 2000 people.
